Nourishing for Generations!

A Message from ASB’s ChairmanRowdy Brixey

The American Society of Baking has shared its mission since 1924 to nourish, inspire and educate the future leaders of the baking industry. ASB accomplishes this in a number of ways.  First is ASB’s annual conference held every March in Chicago, where industry professionals provide technical information in a non-commercialized venue.  Second, over the past few years ASB has broadened its focus to appeal to all leadership functions related to the wholesale baking industry.  Third, ASB provides access to past technical papers spanning 86 years.  Fourth, ASB gives back by supporting entities like AIB, GFF and KSU.  Personally speaking, ASB has played a critical role in my personal and professional development and continues to develop the future leaders of tomorrow.

BakingTech 2010, our most recent conference in Chicago and under John Khoury’s leadership, harvested the past to fortify the future.  It was a record setting week, fortified with nourishing information.  Members were motivated by our Keynote speaker, educated by industry professionals, exposed to new ideas and inspired by knowing the future of our industry burns brighter than ever.

The baking industry has a long rich history of providing nourishment for the masses and ASB too has a long history of providing nourishment to its members.  We must be prepared to ensure this continues to co-exist and fulfill the needs of our industry.  That’s why my theme for 2011 is “Nourishing for Generations”.

As your ASB Chairman it is my goal to make certain that BakingTech 2011 will nourish you and your associates through timely and relevant educational sessions, interactive entertainment and valuable networking opportunities.  The take-aways are endless, the experience is lasting.  It is our hope that you, our industry leaders, and your associates will make the commitment to attend BakingTech 2011.

If you have not attended ASB’s BakingTech conference in the past five years...  you will not want to miss out on another!  Mark your calendar today for BakingTech 2011, March 6 – 9, 2011, Chicago, Illinois.  It’s the place to be if your business is baking!

Paul Lattan, 2011 Program Chairman, and I invite you to join us for the “Best Week in Baking”…  the “Best Value” in our Industry.

Sincerely,

Rowdy Brixey
